It began in November of 2004. While there were a great number of realistic wolf RPGs floating about online, there was something missing. Then came Myth, a wolf RPG with a new elements of fantasy and a number of intriguing twists.

Four very different races of wolves evolved after the fall of four powerful stars to the planet Elementum. Each race, or Kinspecies as they’re commonly referred to, developed qualities unique to their namesake star.

There are the fiery Igniskin, the winged Aerkin, the mysterious Irrigokin and the peaceful Terrakin. Four species, all trying to coexist with the others while forming their own thriving packs.

The earliest versions of this popular RPG have left us behind, but now we find ourselves in a vast, sweeping country far from the original settings of Liberwave Peninsula and Darkloven Nation.

Gone is the interspecies cooperation of Myth’s second coming and today we have Kinspecies tension re-visited. And now unique to Myth III is a variety of subKinspecies that add to the deep intrigue of these fresh, rolling lands. Welcome to the third incarnation of Myth; to peace and war; to secrets and obscurity – welcome to Near.

Welcome to NEARtheMYTH, a collection of the talent showcased on the Role Playing game of Near - Myth III. A collecting pool for all of Myth's wonderful artists, writters, and illustrators, NEARtheMYTH is an ode to an active, inspiring game that we just can't seem to get enough of.

Operated by members for members, we welcome all media, only so long as it is inspired by (and made for) Myth. We accept images, writting snippits, graphics sets, etc., and will show case them for our members.

As per the rules of the game itself, we ask for maturity here - if you do not like a piece, you don't have to look at it. If you don't want your art/writting here, do not submit it. We will ask that you keep everything PG-13, or, if so inclined to write/create "R" inspired pieces, that you forewarn the viewer.

To join, all that you need to do is note NEARtheMYTH with a message titled 'Join', and add us to your watch list. We will do the same for you, minus the noting. If you only add us to your watch, we will assume that you are simply watching, not contributing, and thusly will not add you to our watch list.

To submit, you must be a member of the community, the piece you are submitting must already be on dA, and you must submit a link to said submission. Since we are not recieving notification when you submit a deviation, you must alert the group via note to have your artwork featured.

We ask that you favorite the origional piece of art, which will be linked in the Deviation.
